Algonquin Studios Holds QuantumCMS User Group; Highlights New Features, Improvements, and Support Ideas

Algonquin Studios Holds QuantumCMS User Group; Highlights New Features, Improvements, and Support Ideas

Buffalo, NY (PRWEB) February 21, 2012

Moderated by Algonquin’s co-founder and Senior Usability Engineer, Adrian Roselli, the session provided users of Algonquin’s web content management system, QuantumCMS, an opportunity to review features from the latest software release and participate in a question and answer roundtable with Mr. Roselli and other developers from the Algonquin team.

The session also provided the developers at Algonquin with the unique opportunity to gather feedback from the people who use their software on a daily basis. Having access to this valuable information helps guide Algonquin’s developers in their ongoing efforts to improve and expand the CMS.

During February’s session, Mr. Roselli shared exciting information about the newest version of QuantumCMS, version 4.2.1, and the improved WYSIWYG editor the platform now uses. In addition to this new editor, version 4.2.1 offers increased browser support, an improved custom form builder that allows sales and marketing message-related content to frame the form, and an intuitive file manager that remembers where you were last working in the file tree and returns you to the same location.

Also featured were new reports that are available in this newest version of QuantumCMS. Users now have access to reporting functionality that offers them a quick overview of information including page aliases and site security statuses. Algonquin developers anticipate these reports will be a game changer in the way users interact with QuantumCMS, providing valuable information in easy to read, all-in-one-place format. The reports can be exported to Excel, making them even more useful as they can now be shared with co-workers and across departments.

Algonquin’s new QuantumCMS Customer Care Team was also officially introduced at this meeting. The Customer Care Team is available by phone, email, or online to help answer common questions related to using QuantumCMS. Users are encouraged to reach out to the Customer Care team as an initial point of contact when they’ve forgotten how to use a feature, have a question about where something’s located in the interface, or if they’ve discovered a bug in the software.

QuantumCMS user groups are held twice a year and Algonquin encourages all QuantumCMS users to attend the session, bringing as many members from their organization as needed. In addition to the user groups, Mr. Roselli and other members of Algonquin’s development team also provide extensive technical support to QuantumCMS users, offer web design and SEO consulting, and moderate a community forum that provides users with access to tutorials, release notes, event updates and more.

About QuantumCMS – Algonquin Studios’ content management system has been designed for flexibility and ease of use. Singapore Business Federation and Janus Corporate Solutions Hold Seminar for Representative Offices in Singapore

Singapore Business Federation and Janus Corporate Solutions Hold Seminar for Representative Offices in Singapore

Singapore (PRWEB) February 18, 2012

To help chart the course for future corporate development in Singapore the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) in collaboration and Janus Corporate Solutions, hosted a seminar on ‘Next Steps for Representative Offices’ at the SBF headquarters. The seminar was attended by top executives and senior managers of 26 foreign companies with Representative Offices in Singapore. The attendees came from a variety of industries including manufacturing, transport, logistics, and F&B. The event was part of SBFs and Janus’s collaborative efforts in positioning the country as an operational base for foreign companies that want to enter or expand in the South East Asian market.

Mr. Lauw Kok Keen, SBF Global-Asia Hub Dept. said that SBF is organising the RO Briefing as part of its role in helping and facilitating foreign companies to set up a base in Singapore in order to expand into the Asian region.

Subsequent to the welcome address, attendees were given a comprehensive presentation by the Janus Team headed by Ms. Jacqueline Low, Director of Janus Corporate Solutions. The presentation provided first-hand, relevant, practical, and actionable information about the benefits, ease and process of setting up a permanent establishment in Singapore. Participants were briefed on the process for establishing a permanent presence in the country by either setting up a Singapore subsidiary or a Singapore branch office. The seminar covered several relevant topics including comparison between the two options, their incorporation procedures, their respective tax benefits, compliance requirements, and the Singapore Employment Pass work visa scheme for the foreign staff.

Commenting on the timeliness of the seminar, Ms. Jacqueline Low said, “With the ascendancy of Asia in the global economic order, Singapore has been gaining prominence as a destination to do business. This is the reason why many foreign companies have established a Representative Office here. Since a Singapore representative office is a temporary arrangement and can only exist for a maximum of three years, we wanted the existing representative offices to gain a good understanding about setting up a permanent establishment in Singapore as the next logical step. As an incorporation and compliance services firm, Janus is committed to helping businesses establish and grow their presence in Singapore and we are pleased to partner with SBF for this cause. We look forward to collaborating on more such events with professional bodies such as the SBF.”

The seminar not only proved to be an invaluable platform where participants received strategic guidance on how they can leverage Singapore’s strengths as a business destination but also helped them engage in an active dialogue with Janus professionals to gain clarity about setting up a permanent establishment in Singapore. The event was very well received by the attendees who engaged in a lively Q&A session at the conclusion of the seminar.

Wing Inspections Clear P-2 Airtanker Fleet for Ongoing Aerial Wildfire Deployment

Wing Inspections Clear P-2 Airtanker Fleet for Ongoing Aerial Wildfire Deployment

Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 12, 2012

Neptune Aviation, the country’s biggest operator of large airtankers, reports that its fleet of ex-Navy P2V Neptunes remains wildfire mission-ready, following the discovery of a crack in the left wing of one of its tankers during a routine scheduled inspection in late January of this year. Although that one airtanker remains out of service pending an engineering evaluation, the remaining nine P2Vs were never grounded–thanks to quick action by the operator.

“We were the ones who discovered the problem and notified the FAA’s Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) in Helena, MT, and at the same time filed a Service Difficulty Report through the FAA’s electronic reporting system,” said Dan Snyder, President of the Missoula-based company. “We then developed inspection criteria, which we took to the FAA’s Aircraft Certification Office (ACO) in Denver after we had inspected our entire fleet. The ACO asked us to provide the details of our inspection criteria, and then used that as the basis for the emergency airworthiness directive (AD), which was issued for all P2V operators in the US.”

Snyder added that Neptune continues to work closely with the Helena FSDO, the Denver ACO, and the Seattle Transport Directorate by providing technical expertise and factual data at their request. “The resulting emergency AD includes much of this input as a basis for issuance.”

Under the AD, all P2V Neptunes in the US were to be inspected within 24 hours of the directive’s February 6, 2012, release date. The inspections specifically focused on the wing skin, spar, and web near the wing box–the structure which joins the wing to the fuselage. Since inspections of Neptune’s nine other airtankers did not indicate a similar problem, airtanker capacity for the coming fire season is essentially unchanged.

Snyder pointed out that Neptune’s maintenance and inspection criteria are in full compliance with the approved Continuous Airworthiness Program (CAP), implemented by Neptune, and mandated by the US Forest Service (USFS) in 2004. “Neptune Aviation has always been at the forefront of dealing with the aging aircraft issues involved with the current tanker fleet. The fact that we detected this problem before it led to a catastrophic failure indicates that the CAP is doing its job,” he said.

In fact, Neptune Aviation is in the forefront of efforts to replace its Post-World War II tankers. Last year, it secured interim approval from the USFS for deployment of a modified BAE 146 jet, formerly in air carrier service, and is proposing that aircraft for the air tanker role. “We will be responding to the US Forest Service’s Next Generation Tanker Solicitation by the February 15, 2012 deadline,” Snyder reported. “Our intention is to add more aircraft to the US Forest Service airtanker fleet under this solicitation, while continuing to maintain our current P2V tanker fleet.”

“The proactive maintenance action taken by Neptune Aviation to insure the integrity of its airtanker fleet, is another example of the capability of private enterprise to carry out and assure the availability of an invaluable asset in the fight to contain wildland fires during increasingly long and destructive fire seasons,” said Tom Eversole, AHSAFA’s Executive Director.

Neptune Aviation is a member of the American Helicopter Services and Aerial Firefighting Association (AHSAFA), the Washington-based trade association representing commercial operators of helicopters and fixed wing aircraft engaged in aerial wildland firefighting.

Bon Voyage: Tour Operators in the US Industry Market Research Report Now Updated by IBISWorld

Bon Voyage: Tour Operators in the US Industry Market Research Report Now Updated by IBISWorld

IBISWorld Market Research

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 04, 2012

The Tour Operators industry struggled in 2009, when industry revenue declined by 11.3% as the recession decimated demand. According to IBISWorld industry analyst and report author Nima Samadi, “the industry has turned the corner over the last few years, with tour operators’ revenue growing 4.0% and 2.1% in 2010 and 2011, respectively. The industry is expected to grow an additional 3.8% in 2012 to $ 3.8 billion. Nevertheless, the industry’s overall performance in the five years to 2012 will not be positive, with revenue decreasing at an average annual rate of 1.3%.”

As well as tough economic condition, including high unemployment and lower consumer spending, the industry has had to contend with falling domestic travel and international arrivals into the United States. In 2009, inbound travel declined, with 5.2% fewer people visiting the United States than in 2008. Domestic travel also declined 5.1% that year. With fewer people coming and going, tour operators’ revenue dropped. However, domestic and inbound travel rates have improved over the course of 2010 and 2011. In 2012, domestic and inbound travel are forecast to grow an additional 3.3% and 5.4%, respectively. Improving domestic and international travel rates have led to higher demand for tour operators’ services.

The Tour Operators industry is experiencing increased competition from consumers directly booking travel accommodations online. Many tourists, Samadi says, “want flexible tour packages and itineraries: more travelers desire self-discovery time in line with their own interests, which requires them to travel at a relaxed pace. Given this trend, the demand for niche and special-interest tours is rising, which often command a premium.”

This industry has a low level of concentration. The top four players are estimated by IBISWorld to capture les than 38% of the available market share in 2012. Industry major players include Flight Centre and The Mark Travel Corporation. Over the five years to 2017, high levels of concentration will put pressure on industry participants. Competition from internet-based transport and accommodation providers will compound this pressure. Industry operators are also anticipated to experience increasing demands from customers in relation to services and pricing. Industry consolidation is therefore expected to continue due to competitive pressures, and other travel firms will be acquired by larger players wanting to extend their geographical reach, increase brand name recognition, boost product offerings (e.g. by accessing limited-capacity destinations) and cut operational costs

Demi Moore’s representative told TMZ, “Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.”

RoadFish’s editor is quoted as saying, “It sucks to hear that Demi is suffering from exhaustion. Now whether it is exhaustion or substance abuse, the bottom line is she isn’t taking care of herself. You don’t get exhaustion unless you aren’t sleeping, eating right, hydrating, exercising, and have your joints in working order. It is important to perform at your optimum level. Treat your body well. It will reward you.”

RoadFish.com takes no apologies in the way they tackle touchy topics and offer advice.
