Algonquin Studios Holds QuantumCMS User Group; Highlights New Features, Improvements, and Support Ideas

Algonquin Studios Holds QuantumCMS User Group; Highlights New Features, Improvements, and Support Ideas

Buffalo, NY (PRWEB) February 21, 2012

Moderated by Algonquin’s co-founder and Senior Usability Engineer, Adrian Roselli, the session provided users of Algonquin’s web content management system, QuantumCMS, an opportunity to review features from the latest software release and participate in a question and answer roundtable with Mr. Roselli and other developers from the Algonquin team.

The session also provided the developers at Algonquin with the unique opportunity to gather feedback from the people who use their software on a daily basis. Having access to this valuable information helps guide Algonquin’s developers in their ongoing efforts to improve and expand the CMS.

During February’s session, Mr. Roselli shared exciting information about the newest version of QuantumCMS, version 4.2.1, and the improved WYSIWYG editor the platform now uses. In addition to this new editor, version 4.2.1 offers increased browser support, an improved custom form builder that allows sales and marketing message-related content to frame the form, and an intuitive file manager that remembers where you were last working in the file tree and returns you to the same location.

Also featured were new reports that are available in this newest version of QuantumCMS. Users now have access to reporting functionality that offers them a quick overview of information including page aliases and site security statuses. Algonquin developers anticipate these reports will be a game changer in the way users interact with QuantumCMS, providing valuable information in easy to read, all-in-one-place format. The reports can be exported to Excel, making them even more useful as they can now be shared with co-workers and across departments.

Algonquin’s new QuantumCMS Customer Care Team was also officially introduced at this meeting. The Customer Care Team is available by phone, email, or online to help answer common questions related to using QuantumCMS. Users are encouraged to reach out to the Customer Care team as an initial point of contact when they’ve forgotten how to use a feature, have a question about where something’s located in the interface, or if they’ve discovered a bug in the software.

QuantumCMS user groups are held twice a year and Algonquin encourages all QuantumCMS users to attend the session, bringing as many members from their organization as needed. In addition to the user groups, Mr. Roselli and other members of Algonquin’s development team also provide extensive technical support to QuantumCMS users, offer web design and SEO consulting, and moderate a community forum that provides users with access to tutorials, release notes, event updates and more.

Riverside County Office of Foreign Trade Hosts “Export Manufacturer’s Day”

Riverside County Office of Foreign Trade Hosts “Export Manufacturer’s Day”

Rob Field
Riverside County EDA

Riverside, CA (PRWEB) August 10, 2011

Riverside County Office of Foreign Trade, part of the Riverside County Economic Development Agency, hosted the “Export Manufacturer’s Day”. This show was for current trade partners and local business owners looking to develop and/or expand existing markets overseas. Riverside County ranks 23rd in the country in foreign trade and is working with 35 separate counties that are actively engaged in foreign direct investments to the county. In addition, some of the nearly 4,000 manufacturers within the county are exporting to over 180 different countries creating an 11.5 billion dollar export industry. What does all this mean? More jobs!

Dozens of manufacturers and small business owners throughout the County of Riverside attended this half-day event that was held inside and in front of the county building. On display were RVs from MVP RV (who just signed a five billion dollar contract with China), custom high performance boats from Eliminator Boats and unique custom spas from Regal Spas (who are exporting spas in over a half dozen countries). Other assorted displays included medical products from Wakunaga Pharmaceuticals, automobile products from K&N Filters, California wines for Temecula wineries and protection gear from Paulson Manufacturing Inc., (who are exporting to over 140 different overseas markets).

Established in March 2009 by the Board of Supervisors, the Office of Foreign Trade (OFT) has already made a significant contribution to the local business community. Its goal is to assist local firms in exporting products, goods and services to nations around the globe. The OFT has already established a formal partnership with the Export-Import Bank of the United States which offers businesses assistance in securing financing for exports through the Ex-Im Bank and the EB-5 Visa Program.

Southern California CEO Magazine was in attendance and interviewed key export partners. They spoke about the current economy and issues they have to overcome in expanding their business overseas. With export and import assistance from the OFT, many of these successful business owners, corporate officers, investors, and entrepreneurs have created new jobs and investments within the County of Riverside.

To assist these exporters, federal officials gave the green light to annex much of Southwest Riverside County into San Diego’s foreign trade zone. This set the stage for local manufacturers to save significant amounts of money on tariffs and taxes. Riverside County officials hail the development as a boon for the local economy. “This is a real huge victory for us,” said Tom Freeman, Foreign Trade Commissioner in the County Department of Economic Development..

Castle Metals UK Now Exporting to 52 Countries Around the World

Castle Metals UK Now Exporting to 52 Countries Around the World

Exporting to 52 Countries around the World

(PRWEB UK) 20 July 2011

After only very recently announcing that in May of this year Castle Metals UK had exported to its 50th country – Luxembourg, they can now announce that the number has since risen to 52, with Slovenia and Latvia being added to the growing list.

“We are delighted,” says Tracy Piotrowska, export manager, “at the growth in export business so far in 2011. Shortly after celebrating exports to our 50th country, we surpassed even our own expectations and can proudly announce that we are currently supplying 52 countries with speciality steel, making us truly world-class exporters.”

Castle Metals UK plan to use the rest of 2011 to further grow their presence in Eastern Europe and Asia. The company believe that recent success is down to their continued investment in their stock range, and additional processing capabilities. This year they introduced a new range of super duplex and duplex sheet, now stocking 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm and 3mm S31803, S32750, S32760 and 6 Moly S31254. In support of this huge stock investment came the installation of a large capacity water-jet cutting machine, and a high powered laser cutting machine. The result of these investments are decreased lead times and higher capacity meaning the service to customers around the globe is faster than ever.

Castle Metals UK’s customers are found in sectors such as Oil and Gas, Chemical, Petrochemical, Agrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Fabrication, Aerospace, Power Generation and Nuclear.

Castle Metals UK is the new name being gradually rolled out as the rebranding process at Metals UK continues, following it’s acquisitions by the USA’s A.M. Castle & Co in 2008.

Cell Phone Accessory Seller to Switch Online Auction Sites in Favor of Lower Fees

Cell Phone Accessory Seller to Switch Online Auction Sites in Favor of Lower Fees

Riverside, CA (PRWEB) June 5, 2007

Accessory Export, LLC a Southern California-based cell phone accessory company, today announced it will switch online auction sites, moving from eBay to less costly sites such as Amazon.com and Yahoo Store.

In 2006, Accessory Export, LLC (eBay user ID: accessoryexport) launched more than 850,000 auctions to eBay.com and from those auctions grossed over $ 2 million in sales. But this hefty sales number came with a very large eBay bill. For the year 2006, Accessory Export, LLC paid eBay nearly $ 600,000 in fees.

eBay has long based its fee structure on two components; insertion fees and final value fees. Insertion fees are based on several factors which include starting price of an auction and any selected upgrades such as a gallery picture. Final value fees are percentage based fees that are assessed based on an auction’s final selling price.

Accessory Export, LLC reports that in the cell phone accessory category on eBay, a seller can expect approximately 12 to 20 percent of auctions to end with a successful bidder. That means that 80 to 88 percent of their auctions never even get a bid. Fortunately, on these auctions, Accessory Export is not required to pay a final value fee to eBay. However, every time an auction is listed, regardless of success, eBay collects its required insertion fee.

Even though Accessory Export plans to reduce their eBay presence in favor of other online auction sites, they do not predict any decline in gross sales, they are actually expecting to see a 100 percent increase in sales this year, making their 2007 gross sales close to $ 4 million.

They plan to fuel this growth by branching into other online auction sites, such as, Amazon.com and their new website, http://www.AccessoryExportWholesale.com. These alternate marketplaces may offer slightly less visibility, but their seller friendly fee structures offer huge potential for increased profits.

Amazon’s Marketplace is catalog based and allows multiple sellers to list directly on a single product. In Accessory Export’s opinion, Amazon’s layout is far superior to eBay’s, in the sense that it allows buyers to quickly identify all sellers for a particular item and compare prices on one page. With eBay’s auction-based layout a buyer is forced to search through sometimes thousands of auctions and independently keep track of pricing and product information.

Additionally, Amazon’s fee structure is not based on insertions fees, but is based on a low monthly membership fee and final value fees that are only charged when an item is sold. This fee structure adds up to big profits. Accessory Export, LLC is currently receiving over 300 cell phone accessory orders per day from their Amazon Marketplace account and Accessory Export’s Co-Owner, William Land states, “It would take about 500 orders from eBay to equal the same profit we make on 300 orders via Amazon due to the reduced fees.”

Accessory Export’s newest venture http://www.AccessoryExportWholesale.com is a standalone Yahoo Store website, which Accessory Export plans to promote by utilizing search engine optimization techniques. Yahoo’s store fee structure is similar to that of Amazon, in the sense that they charge a monthly fee along with a small final value fees for all items sold.

This new site, http://www.AccessoryExportWholesale.com, is not scheduled to be completed and officially launch until July 1, 2007, yet the site is already receiving over 100 page views a day and about one order for every 200 page views. Accessory Export, LLC expects this site when complete to produce about 10,000 page views a day and several thousand orders a month.

For additional information about Accessory Export, LLC and their cell phone accessory products please contact Laura Land or visit one of their websites: http://www.AccessoryExport.com, http://www.3lcell.com, or http://www.AccessoryExportWholesale.com

Klatu Adds Integrated Product Licensing and Export and Import Documentation Functionality

Klatu Adds Integrated Product Licensing and Export and Import Documentation Functionality

(PRWEB) April 20, 2004

Based on Klatu’s stringent product classification, an e-store customer can now add optional integrated export compliance functionality, thereby enabling the required exporting checks, export licensing controls and export documentation needed to export products from any major trading country in the world.

Export licensing

Export licensing functionality informs the Exporter if a license is required to ship their specific product from the country of export to the destination. If a license or license exception is required or embargo restrictions are in effect, the result is displayed to the user. The determination of export license requirements or license exceptions is based on its applicable Export Commodity Control Number (ECCN) or other classification number(s).

The Department of Commerce licenses “dual- use” exports, which include technology products, such as computers, certain software and encryption devices and technology. Many products do not require an export license, however a failure to obtain a required license would have severe consequences.

Export Documentation

Documentation support identifies which documents are required for shipment between countries, including both export and import documents.

After the passage of the 2001 Patriot Act, the need for screening, mandatory compliance and the blocking and reporting of any transactions involving barred entities. Export controls are enacted by a government to prohibit, reduce or limit the amount of any specific good or commodity from leaving its borders. The most common products under export controls are munitions and high-technology products.

U.S. Commercial Service and PNC Launch New Initiative to Promote U.S. Exports by Small and Mid-Size Businesses

U.S. Commercial Service and PNC Launch New Initiative to Promote U.S. Exports by Small and Mid-Size Businesses

Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) December 14, 2005

The Commerce Department’s U.S. Commercial Service today announced the selection of PNC Bank, a member of The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., for a new initiative aimed at boosting exports by small and medium-sized U.S. businesses. PNC is the first bank to team up with the U.S. Commercial Service to promote exporting through cooperative public-private sector export tools and resources.

“The strategic alliance we have formed with PNC Bank will help more small and medium-sized businesses learn about opportunities in the global marketplace,” said Israel Hernandez, assistant secretary for Trade Promotion and director-general of the U.S. Commercial Service. “Ninety-five percent of the world’s consumers live outside of the United States, and by combining our export resources, PNC Bank and the Commercial Service will make it easier for U.S. exporters to establish and grow their international sales.”

Over the last decade, U.S. exports have accounted for a significant portion of the nation’s economic growth, with exports currently supporting about 20 percent of U.S. manufacturing jobs. There is also vast untapped export potential: Small and medium-sized companies comprise 97 percent of U.S. exporters, but as a group account for only a small share of the value of U.S. goods exports. Small businesses create 70 percent of the new jobs in America, and helping these firms export is vital to continued U.S. economic growth.

Through this new collaboration with the U.S. Commercial Service, PNC, which has provided financial services to U.S. exporters for more than 30 years, will connect business customers to more and better information on exporting issues. Joint seminars, trade events and web-based links to export-related services will help businesses to:

Understand the benefits of the U.S. Commercial Service’s worldwide export assistance network of 108 domestic offices and 150 posts in 80 countries

Identify potential customers in foreign markets

Access a variety of financing options

Identify and mitigate risks of doing business in other countries

Settle payments from foreign customers effectively.

“When PNC’s expertise in international banking is combined with the program support of the U.S. Commercial Service, small and medium-sized businesses have a strong ally to support their expansion into new markets,” said Harry G. Hayman III, senior vice president and manager of PNC’s global treasury management/international banking group. “Through greater awareness and increased utilization of available programs, more businesses can participate in the global economy and expand their sales appropriately.”

PNC Bank, N.A., is a member of The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., [NYSE: PNC], one of the nation’s largest diversified financial services organizations, and is a top lender of the U.S. Export/Import Bank structured finance programs.

The U.S. Commercial Service is a Commerce Department agency that helps U.S. companies — particularly small and medium-sized businesses — sell their products and services in international markets.
