Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 04, 2012

The Tour Operators industry struggled in 2009, when industry revenue declined by 11.3% as the recession decimated demand. According to IBISWorld industry analyst and report author Nima Samadi, “the industry has turned the corner over the last few years, with tour operators’ revenue growing 4.0% and 2.1% in 2010 and 2011, respectively. The industry is expected to grow an additional 3.8% in 2012 to $ 3.8 billion. Nevertheless, the industry’s overall performance in the five years to 2012 will not be positive, with revenue decreasing at an average annual rate of 1.3%.”

As well as tough economic condition, including high unemployment and lower consumer spending, the industry has had to contend with falling domestic travel and international arrivals into the United States. In 2009, inbound travel declined, with 5.2% fewer people visiting the United States than in 2008. Domestic travel also declined 5.1% that year. With fewer people coming and going, tour operators’ revenue dropped. However, domestic and inbound travel rates have improved over the course of 2010 and 2011. In 2012, domestic and inbound travel are forecast to grow an additional 3.3% and 5.4%, respectively. Improving domestic and international travel rates have led to higher demand for tour operators’ services.

The Tour Operators industry is experiencing increased competition from consumers directly booking travel accommodations online. Many tourists, Samadi says, “want flexible tour packages and itineraries: more travelers desire self-discovery time in line with their own interests, which requires them to travel at a relaxed pace. Given this trend, the demand for niche and special-interest tours is rising, which often command a premium.”

This industry has a low level of concentration. The top four players are estimated by IBISWorld to capture les than 38% of the available market share in 2012. Industry major players include Flight Centre and The Mark Travel Corporation. Over the five years to 2017, high levels of concentration will put pressure on industry participants. Competition from internet-based transport and accommodation providers will compound this pressure. Industry operators are also anticipated to experience increasing demands from customers in relation to services and pricing. Industry consolidation is therefore expected to continue due to competitive pressures, and other travel firms will be acquired by larger players wanting to extend their geographical reach, increase brand name recognition, boost product offerings (e.g. by accessing limited-capacity destinations) and cut operational costs

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) February 03, 2012

TST Media today announced that it has acquired Wisconsin Sports Network (WSN) from TDS Telecom. Based in Madison, Wisconsin, WSN is the online media destination of choice for over 85,000 student athletes participating in high school athletics in the state of Wisconsin every year.

The Wisconsin Sports Network is an integrated publishing company with a focus on these student athletes, their communities, families, friends, fans and coaches. Founded in 2002, WSN has successfully integrated both print and online mediums to give their audience a unique and highly popular variety of quality content.

“Over the past 10 years, WSN has grown to become one of the largest and most highly trafficked properties of its kind in the country,” said Justin Kaufenberg, TST Media CEO and co-founder. “The passionate audience that the WSN team has built is nothing short of amazing, and we are very excited to have them in the TST Media family. In the near future, Wisconsin prep sports fans can expect to see the exciting results of this transaction as data becomes available in real time, via mobile and on the new WSN website. Since its initial launch in 2002, WSN has accumulated: 300+ million page views, 1,000,000+ unique IP addresses and been bookmarked over 2,000,000 times.

“We have been honing our content model for close to ten years and to pair that with the great technology of TST Media is very exciting,” said Nicholas Kartos, President & Founder, Wisconsin Sports Network. “Not only is the NGIN platform amazing, but all the potential that mobile and tablet apps bring. Furthermore, the company culture and future plans are a great fit for WSN and our employees. This is a big win, not only for WSN, but for the players, coaches, fans and sponsors of high school sports in Wisconsin.”

“It is our goal to continue pushing the envelope by offering a unique and valuable combination of full-time editorial coverage and timely statistical data.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 25, 2012

Today, RoadFish.com men’s lifestyle and finance magazine releases its 6 tips for staying healthy after TMZ’s announcement of Demi Moore’s hospitalization in Los Angeles for exhaustion and alleged substance abuse. RoadFish has 6 common sense tips to build your health before you can build your wealth.

According to TMZ, “Demi Moore was rushed to the hospital Monday night … and we’re told the issue is substance abuse.

Law enforcement tells us a 911 call was placed at 10:45 PM Monday night. Paramedics responded to Demi’s L.A. home and after assessing her for a half hour, she was transported to a local hospital.

Sources tell us she is being placed in a facility to “seek further professional assistance. Our sources say the treatment is for substance abuse.”

RoadFish’s mission is to provide helpful tips and tricks to live a better life. Their health tips include such topics as chiropractic, exercise, taking your vitamins, reducing stress and nail biting, eliminating toxic substances as drugs and alcohol.

Demi Moore’s representative told TMZ, “Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.”

RoadFish’s editor is quoted as saying, “It sucks to hear that Demi is suffering from exhaustion. Now whether it is exhaustion or substance abuse, the bottom line is she isn’t taking care of herself. You don’t get exhaustion unless you aren’t sleeping, eating right, hydrating, exercising, and have your joints in working order. It is important to perform at your optimum level. Treat your body well. It will reward you.”

RoadFish.com takes no apologies in the way they tackle touchy topics and offer advice.

Steamboat Springs, Colorado (PRWEB) January 21, 2012

Resort Broadband, LLC, Steamboat Springs’ largest locally owned Internet Service Provider, today announced the acquisition of VailNet/ColoradoNet, Eagle and Summit County’s leading local provider of high speed Internet, e-mail, web-hosting and portal media services. The purchase which closed on January 1st, 2012 adds over three thousand new customers to Resort Broadband’s rapidly growing customer base.

According to Resort Broadband President Evan Biagi, the purchase is the most recent investment in a decade-long commitment to being at the forefront of Internet connectivity in Colorado. Since its inception in 2001 Resort Broadband has continually invested in cutting edge technology for its customers. Biagi stated, “We enjoy the challenge of being on the leading edge of technology and the excitement of delivering new services to our customers.” He continued, “The addition of VailNet’s assets will allow us to continue this trend, and diversify our customer base. We bring more to the table than just connectivity; it has been our commitment to excellent customer service and innovative solutions that has enabled our consistent growth”.

“VailNet/ColoradoNet has been proud to provide a locally owned and operated Internet Service provider option to Eagle and Summit County since 1994. With the added resources and technology that Resort Broadband brings to the table, customers can look forward to even better service and support in the coming months” said John Uhley, VailNet’s outgoing Vice President of Internet Services.

Resort Broadband plans to continue developing the VailNet/ColoradoNet services throughout Eagle and Summit Counties, and supporting its existing customer base. Existing customers will retain the desirable vail.net and colorado.net email addresses.

In addition to the Internet Service Provider (ISP) operations, Resort Broadband has also acquired the online media components of the vail.net and colorado.net websites. These sites represent an online visitor’s guide to the Vail and Beaver Creek areas. The success of the vail.net domain has been apparent since the site was originally launched over 15 years ago. “This advertising based component of the company is a unique opportunity to reach many thousands of visitors and to drive revenue to local businesses. We are in a hospitality driven market, and using technology to drive business to our customers fits very well with our goal of expanding the company into new areas” stated Biagi.

ThreatMetrix compiled data on the percentage of desktop and mobile transactions that were classified as risky — or potentially fraudulent — over the 2011 holiday season.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) January 19, 2012

ThreatMetrix™, the fastest-growing provider of integrated cybercrime prevention solutions, announced today that it has released data on the percentage of desktop and mobile transactions that were classified as risky — or potentially fraudulent — over the 2011 holiday season.

Findings revealed that while desktop transactions were still more risky than mobile transactions on average, the risk level remained fairly consistent across devices during the month of December; there was a slight increase in fraudulent activity the days leading up to and following Christmas day. Data was gathered across the ThreatMetrix™ Global Network.

“Online commerce is becoming a preferred channel, as its convenience and oftentimes competitive pricing are appealing factors to today’s consumers,” said Alisdair Faulkner, chief products officer, ThreatMetrix. In fact, comScore reported that shoppers had spent almost $ 32 billion online for the holiday season during the first 32 days of the November and December 2011 holiday shopping season, which marks a 15% increase from a year ago. “As businesses continue to build a cross-channel presence, it’s essential they understand the inner workings of the fraud network to effectively prevent cybercrime.”

Faulkner added that today’s online fraudsters have evolved from individuals and small groups, to professional worldwide networks. In 2010, fraud-related e-commerce revenue loss in the U.S. and Canada totaled $ 2.7 billion, according to CyberSource’s 2011 Fraud Report, and those numbers are only expected to rise.

Given the 2011 fraud season of notable cybercrimes, ThreatMetrix compiled a “Circle of Fraud” overview for how fraudsters typically operate in various industries:

Banking: Fraudsters write software that can compromise bank accounts. The software intercepts user login sessions, enabling the hacker to transparently access the account funds.

Social Networking: Hackers purchase compromised scripts – containing false credentials – to register on social networking sites. Fake social profiles are auto-created using the compromised scripts. Using the fake profiles, hackers distribute spam emails containing viruses that infect the recipients’ device.

Domestic E-Commerce: Using stolen credentials from virus-infected computers, e-commerce hackers visit compromised online retailers and steals customers’ credit card information by using SQL injection attacks.

Online Gaming: Fraudsters verify the validity of stolen credit cards by sending out scripts to target gaming and gambling sites for the purchasing of virtual currencies. Once these virtual transactions are approved, the fraudster tests the stolen credit cards by using its available funds.

Global E-Commerce: Hackers located overseas tunnel through compromised computers and use stolen credit cards to place online orders. The websites don’t detect the invasion because the hacker’s IP address mirrors that of the compromised computer. These more advanced cybercriminals visit online hacker forums where they pursue information about the compromised devices that correspond to the stolen identities.

Third-Party: These individuals receive stolen goods and repackage them for fraudsters. They are sometimes unaware of their role in the “Circle of Fraud.”

East Alton, IL (PRWEB) January 16, 2012

Simmons Browder Gianaris Angelides & Barnerd LLC Shareholder Trent Miracle, head of the law firm’s pharmaceutical litigation division, was selected Jan. 9 by a federal judge to serve on the Plaintiff Steering Committee for the multidistrict litigation involving the defective DePuy Pinnacle AcetabularCup System. Attorney Eric Johnson was also selected to serve on the discovery sub-committee for the national MDL. More than fifty(?) cases involving the defective hip replacement product were consolidated in August before U.S. District Judge James Kinkeade in the Northern District of Texas.

“It’s an honor to be selected to participate in such an important national role for the DePuy litigation,” Miracle said. “Judge Kinkeade appointed a very talented group of attorneys to spearhead the national efforts and I’m looking forward to working with them and helping bring these cases to a successful resolution for our clients.”

The DePuy Pinnacle System is a metal-on-metal hip implant, similar to the DePuy ASR Hip Replacement product, which was recalled in 2010 for a high failure rate. Both defective medical devices were manufactured by DePuy Orthopaedics, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson.

The Pinnacle hip replacement has been linked to reports of metal poisoning caused when the device components rub together and release metal shavings into the blood. This damages the bone and tissues surrounding the implant. Some studies have found that in some patients, high metal levels in the blood can cause additional illnesses elsewhere in the body including the heart, nervous system and thyroid gland.

As a result of the risks, the FDA has ordered DePuy Orthopaedics and other manufacturers of metal-on-metal hip implants to conduct additional research to find if the medical devices raises the level of metal in the blood to dangerous levels.

Miracle also serves on the discovery sub-committee for the DePuy ASR Hip replacement MDL. In 2009, he was appointed to the plantiffs’ steering committee in the Yaz and Yasmin birth control multidistrict litigation. Miracle has also worked on litigation against other defective medical devices and dangerous drugs including Vioxx, Bextra, Ortho Evra, Ephedra and Phenylpropanolamine, Oxycontin and others. This the first time Johnson has been selected to a leadership role in national litigation.

Shopping Zappos.com for new athletic clothing and workout gear every time a milestone or goal is reached is a great way to reward hard work, keep energy high, and show off a new and improved figure.

In US, we can find about 2,500 trade shows every year. The event becomes a perfect even for companies because it can open the opportunities to grab new customers from various different backgrounds. Joining the trade show exhibition requires a lot of money, that’s for sure, but we can see the amount of money we spend as an investment because if we made a success on the trade show exhibition, we will be able to give positive feedback to our company.

One of the keys to successful trade show is excellent-designed trade show booth. The trade show displays and whole accessories should be planned perfectly, so it will attract the visitors and make them engaged to our business. When we want to rent a booth, then make sure to choose one on the right or left of the aisle. Remember that booth truss width is more important that depth because the longer our booth is, the longer the visitors step and attention to our booth.

For the grids, make sure that it is practical, strong and versatile. They are the major foundation of our booth look, so make sure to steal attention with the right grids. Flooring is also very important on trade show booth. Similar to the whole display, flooring becomes a foundation for the trade show booth. We are highly recommended to choose the white masonite floor than the regular one. White flooring might look standard, but it will emphasize the booth merchandise, banner, logo floor mats and others.

Light does matter on trade show booth. Don’t use the plain lighting, but play with it to create dramatic lighting. Many companies think that the light from the convention center is enough, but actually we need more. We should know that the lighting from trade show convention is mercury vapor light that gives unnatural bluish effect. We are recommended to use halogen lighting to balance it and serve focus to our booth.

The exhibit booths wall plays important role on emphasizing the merchandise and whole booth appearance. Make sure to play with colors and determine the right color that sells based on out company logo and the impression we want to make. Drapery wall is usually absorbing the light, so foam board can be a better alternative. It is also very cheap. We can also combine it with metal display grids. With those tips and tricks, we can make our trade show booth more attractive for the visitors. Always make a perfect preparation to build trade show booth because it is our investment for our company.
